Legal basis:
Opprettet 04.05.1929 i henhold til lov om statsautoriserte revisorer av 22. februar 1929. Nåværende revisorråd oppnevnt av Handelsdepartementet i henhold til paragraf 13 i lov om revisjon og revisorer av 14. mars 1964.
Mandate:
Revisorrådet bistår departementet med håndhevelse av revisorloven (med unntak av bestemmelsene om revisorutdanningen) blant annet ved å avgi uttalelser og utredninger av spørsmål som blir forelagt det av departementet.
