Abstract
The Archive of Civil Servants contains information about civil servants in the state administration (mainly ministries). The collection of the data is related to the publication of 'The History of the Norwegian Central Administration'. The archive is divided into six periods and dataset. Periods and responsible project leaders for the archive:
- 1814-1845 (P. Maurseth)
- 1845-1884 (E. Benum)
- 1884-1914 (K.D. Jacobsen)
- 1914-1939 (J. Hovden)
- 1945-1965 (H. F. Donjem)
- 1970-1974 (P. Lægreid og J. P. Olsen)
The information varies between the periods but consists mainly of 'birthplace', 'father’s occupation', 'education', 'position' (before and after duty in ministries), 'time period', 'wage scale', 'carreer in ministry' etc.
