OVF in short

Opplysningsvesenets fond (Ovf) is an independent legal endowment holding its own real estate and financial capital. The real estate portfolio consists of rectories, clergy houses (vicarages etc.), forestry, watercourses, leased properties and office premises for ecclesiastical operations.

In accordance with paragraph no.106 of Norway's Constitution and with the Ovf Act itself, the Ovf has been set up to benefit the Church.

Ovf is similar to a foundation in that both work to maintain and develop certain values. The profit is for a specified purpose.

In addition to the real estate portfolio, Ovf has a financial assets of NOK 1 520 million (December 2009).
