The Section is responsible for negotiating free trade agreements, the majority of which are negotiated in the framework of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). The Section is also responsible for Norway’s investment agreements. The Ministry’s web site on free trade agreements contains information on Norway’s existing free trade agreements, in addition to ongoing negotiations. Free trade in the framework of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) falls under the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
