01.01.2014* Founding by merger
The Communication Unit coordinates and initiates contact with the media and the rest of society, and deals with matters relating to communication within the Ministry. It provides information on the activities, political decisions and operational areas that come within the Ministry’s sphere of responsibility, and information to the public regarding, rights and obligations.
The Unit advises the political leadership and the various departments on matters relating to communication, and is responsible for preparing and implementing communication strategies and measures, and for the day-to-day management of media matters. In matters relating to communication that involve several ministries, the Unit coordinates the activities of all the parties. The Unit also has editorial responsibility for the Ministry’s internal and external web pages.
