Tasks:
The section has the overall responsibility for a holistic and integrated environment and development policy, including the safeguarding of the Ministry of the Environment’s cooperation agreements with China, India, South Africa and Brazil and cooperating with Burma on environmental issues.
It is also responsible for following up the work on a green economy in developing countries under the Rio+20 conference and political initiatives within development such as the energy and climate initiative Energy+ and the “Clean energy for development” scheme.

The section’s work with environment and climate funding is mainly directed towards the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) and the Green Climate Fund under the Convention on Climate Change.

The section also assists in the work with these international climate negotiations. In addition, the section is responsible for the national and international work with short-lived climate drivers, including following up via the international coalition.
