The section oversees the National Library of Norway, the National Archives Services of Norway, the Nidaros Cathedral’s Restoration Workshop, the Language Council of Norway and the Norwegian Library of Talking Books and Braille. Further responsibilities include libraries, literature, language policy, Sami affairs, national minorities and coordination of the ministry’s research and development (R&S) work.
