The main task of the Ownership Unit is to execute professional corporate administration & management of the companies in which the Ministry of Transport manages the state’s direct ownership interests. The Ministry of Transport is responsible for the management of the state’s interests in seven companies, of which five are in the rail sector (Bane NOR SF, Vygruppen AS, Mantena AS, Entur AS and Norske tog AS), one is in the roads sector (Nye Veier AS) and one in the civil aviation sector (Avinor AS).
