The Planning Section is responsible for strategic planning, studies & reporting and analysis of cross industry matters in the transport sector and has a key role in the ministry’s work with The National Transport Plan in close co-operation with the NTP Project that pursuant to this revision of The National Transport Plan leads the process. The section is also responsible for the development of planning and analysis tools, leading and co-ordinating the Ministry’s work with new technology, hereunder intelligent transport systems, as well as overarching responsibility for and co-ordination of the Ministry’s research and report work. The work with NTP is organised as a project and is placed under the auspices of The Department of Planning and Rail Transport.
