Pasientreiser HF is a national health enterprise that, together with 17 other health enterprises, must ensure good and equal services in the area of patient travel. The enterprise is owned by the four regional health enterprises and has primary responsibility for travel support, i.e. travel that patients undertake themselves and apply for reimbursement for afterwards. In addition, they develop and manage ICT systems for the patient travel field, contribute with legal expertise and training on the regulations, and inform citizens about the scheme.
Pasientreiser HF is owned by the four regional health enterprises.
The enterprise was established as a limited liability company on 11 May 2009 (Health Enterprises' Centre for Patient Travel ANS), and was transformed into a health enterprise with effect from 1 April 2017.
From 1 January 2018, Pasientreiser HF took over the legal responsibility for the area of travel support
